I just read your post about the person who was having a difficult time finding a prodution artist job that wasn't entry level. I, on the other hand, am looking for exactly what he would like to avoid. I am a freelance illustrator who will be moving to Denver in July. I have a studio art degree and have some graphic design skills, but I don't think I will be able to get a graphic design job. I've been in office jobs for several years and doing my own work on the side. Any advice for someone like me who would love to be a production artist? You can see my work here: http://www.michellekondrich.com. Thanks!

Thanks Outhouse dude. True, it's cool at concerts. But also a distraction for students in school. Although in my younger days I might be a fan of "sexting".

grumpy I get what your saying about the digression of technology from the human voice to digital letters and symbols on a screen. although I do see another side to this coin. Texting is silent which can be a plus if your in a very noisy environment. (concerts, bars, etc.) Or a quiet environment were it would be inappropriate to carry on a phone conversation. (classes, meetings, restaurants) although this doesn't stop some. But I think the biggest appeal of texting is the lack of emotional commitment one needs for texting. (seems to be the same for blogs as well) Im not a big texter but I find it cuts out alot of the bullshit people spew when using the phone. How's the weather and all that. But I think I prefer it to all the smiley faces and decoding the shorthand shit. TTYL :•(

enjoying the rants by the way.
